‘If your child missed the HPV or MMR vaccinations in school on 26th February 24 a catch up session is being held in school on 18th March 24. More information will follow. Any queries please don’t hesitate to contact the School Nursing Team on 01639 862801’

Year 8 HPV Vaccinations

‘The School Nurses will be attending school on the 26th February to carry out the HPV Vaccination and MMR vaccinations for pupils who are outstanding. You will have received the consent form please ensure you have completed the form and sent it back to the school. Please complete the form whether you would like your child to receive the vaccine or not. On the day please could your child wear suitable clothing for example a short sleeved shirt and ensure they eat breakfast. If you wish to withdraw consent or feel your child isn’t well enough on the day please ensure you contact either the school or the school nursing service on 01639 862801 before 9am of the day of the vaccinations. Any queries in regards to this please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Nasal Flu Immunisation

Flu Immunisations will be taking place on 15th-17th January.

On the day of the immunisation it is very important you tell the nurse if your child is wheezy (or has been wheezy in the three days before); has had to use their asthma inhaler more often than usual; or has taken oral steroids for their asthma in the last two weeks (not inhalers)

Anyone wanting to withdraw consent or feel their child is not well enough will need to contact the school prior to the 19/10/23 or prior to 9am on the morning of vaccinations.

HPV Vaccinations for Year 8 and 9 pupils.

The School Nurses will be attending school on the 13th, 14th and 17th of March to carry out the first dose of HPV Vaccine for Year 8 pupils. Any consent forms not yet returned should be sent into school asap.

Year 9 pupils will be receiving their 2nd dose of the HPV Vaccine on 13th, 14th or 17th March. If you consented to the first dose of the vaccine this automatically carries your consent for the second dose.

Please ensure that your child wears a short sleeved shirt and has breakfast.

Year 9 Pupils

Year 9 pupils have been given Immunisation Consent Forms for DPT/MenACWY vaccinations which will take place over 8th/9th June.  Please can forms be returned by Friday 14th May.

Key Stage 4

Pupils in years 10/11 will be having Relationships Education lessons (SRE) in line with the Healthy Schools Programme over the coming weeks. These lessons will be completed during Skills/ RS (year 10) or registration (year 11). If parents/ carers have any questions or would like any more information, please contact the school, and ask to speak to Miss Stead Head of PSE.

 

Key Stage 3

This term pupils in Years 7, 8 and 9 will be having SRE lessons in line with the Healthy School Programme.  These lessons will be completed during PSE.  Year 7 will only be covering puberty.  If parents/carers have any questions or would like any more information, please contact the school, and ask to speak to Miss Stead Head of PSE.

Immunisations – Year 8 & 9

HPV Immunisations Year 8 & 9

HPV Immunisations will be taking place on 19th, 20th & 21st April for the whole of Year 8 & 9.

Consent forms for Year 8 will be given to pupils on 17th March and need to be returned by the 24th March.

Year 9 Consent Forms were completed last year and will be used again this year.

MMR Immunisations – Year 8 & 9

Forms for the MMR Vaccination will also be given to pupils in Year 8 & 9 who have not yet been vaccinated.  Year 8 forms to be returned by 24th March and Year 9 Forms to be returned by 25th March.

Please could all forms be returned, even if you do not wish your child to have the vaccinations.
