The school runs three canteens based upon a cafeteria system. In primary phase we are open before school for early breakfast club and at lunchtime serving a set meal from our weekly menu. In Secondary phase we have two cafeteria areas and are open at break and lunch-time. A range of healthy meals are available to pupils. At lunchtime these include a set meal from our weekly menu served in our small canteen. From the main canteen you can purchase at lunchtime from a large selection of grab and go items. These include filled baguettes, rolls and sandwiches, pasta pots, curry pots and baked potatoes and paninis etc. In addition, pupils can also select dishes from the salad bar.
Remember, queues for the canteen can be long, but you can decide to enjoy the yard first and come back in a while when the queues have gone down. Day-to-day, in our experience, all pupils are served with at least 20 minutes to go before the end of lunch, so there is plenty of free time before or after queuing and thankfully, even though it is busy, you don’t’ have to spend all you break in a queue!
Children who choose to bring sandwiches are also well catered for. Pupils are not permitted to leave the school site to purchase lunch.
Applications for free meals and clothing grants should be made directly to the Local Authority. Advice is available from the school reception.
