Llongyfarchiadau gwresog i Dros Dro am ennill Cân i Gymru 2025 gyda’u cân Troseddwr Yr Awr. Mae’r grŵp yn boblogaidd iawn gyda disgyblion a staff yn yr ysgol ac roedd grŵp o’r ysgol yna yn cefnogi yn fyw i weld nhw’n dod i’r brig.

Warmest congratulations to Dros Dro for winning A Song For Wales 2025 with their song Criminal of the Hour. The group is very popular with pupils and staff at the school and a group from school were there supporting them live at the competition, thrilled to see them come out on top.

Byddwn yn dathlu Dydd Gwyl Dewi yn yr ysgol ar ddydd Llun 3 Mawrth 2025. Bydd y gweithgareddau canlynol yn mynd ymlaen yn ystod y dydd. We will be celebrating St David’s Day in school on Monday 3rd March 2025. The following activities will be taking place throughout the day.

Diwrnod Gwisgo Coch, Gwyn a Gwyrdd/Wear Red, White or Green Day: All pupils and staff are kindly requested to wear a red, white or green top to school (normal school uniform on the bottom half). Each pupil is kindly requested to bring a £1 cash donation to school, to be collected in during registration by our class/form teachers. All money raised will support the development of Welsh across our school with particular focus on our pupils taking part in the Urdd National Eisteddfod for the first time this year.

Gweithgareddau hwyliog mewn gwersi/Fun activities in lessons: Our normal curriculum will be transformed into a feast of fun activities, celebrating our language, heritage and culture.

Cwpan Gwyl Dewi/St David’s Cup: We have started a new tradition with our neighbours Ysgol Bro Dur. Each year from now will see a sports competition between the 2 schools to earn possession of the St David’s Cup. In this inaugural year the competitions will be rugby and netball for Year 7 and 11 respectively.

Braf iawn oedd croesawu’r Maer Castell Nedd Port Talbot, Mr Crowley, i Ysgol Baglan heddiw. Pwrpas yr ymweliad oedd dathlu llwyddiant aruthrol gan ein disgyblion wrth gystadlu yn Eisteddfod Caerdydd ar 7 Chwefror.

It was lovely to welcome the Neath Port Talbot Mayor, Mr Crowley, to Ysgol Bae Baglan today. The purpose of his visit was to celebrate the amazing success of our pupils at the recent Eisteddfod Caerdydd.

Gwers brysur arall mewn Dylunio a Thechnoleg. Disgyblion yn mesuro, llifio, nailing, drilio, sandio ac yn y pen draw datrys problemau. Fel arfer sgiliau unigol a thîm rhagorol gyda llawer iawn o frwdfrydedd a ddangosir drwyddi draw, mae dyfodol dylunio Ysgol Bae Baglan yn edrych yn wych. Da iawn chi i gyd!

Another busy lesson in Design and Technology. Pupils measuring, sawing, nailing, drilling, sanding and ultimately problem solving. As usual excellent individual and team skills with a large amount of enthusiasm shown throughout, the future of design at Ysgol Bae Baglan looks great. Well done all!

Mae dosbarth 7SLS wedi bod yn ymchwilio i “Are banana’s really that slippy”, trwy brofi faint o ffrithiant a grëwyd gan bananas, carped, y bwrdd a dŵr sebonllyd.

Class 7SLS have been investigating “Are banana’s really that slippy”, by testing how much friction created by bananas, carpet, the table and soapy water.

Cafodd ein disgyblion Ffotograffiaeth a Thecstilau Blwyddyn 10 ddiwrnod ysbrydoledig ym Mhrifysgol Cymru Y Drindod Dewi Sant! Cawsant y cyfle anhygoel i weithio mewn lleoliad proffesiynol gydag arbenigwyr yn y diwydiant, gan ennill mewnwelediadau gwerthfawr ac archwilio technegau newydd i wella eu sgiliau.

Fel rhan o’r diwrnod, bu’r disgyblion yn gweithio mewn grwpiau gyda Mr. Larkman ac yn cymryd rhan mewn sesiwn ffotograffiaeth gyffrous o amgylch dinas Abertawe. Fe wnaethant archwilio’r farchnad eiconig, gan ddal lluniau trawiadol o gynnyrch Cymreig anhygoel wrth arbrofi gyda chyfansoddiad, goleuo a phersbectif.

Our Year 10 Photography and Textiles pupils had an inspiring day at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David! They had the incredible opportunity to work in a professional setting with industry experts, gaining valuable insights and exploring new techniques to enhance their skills.

As part of the day, pupils worked in groups with Mr. Larkman and took part in an exciting photoshoot around Swansea city. They explored the iconic market, capturing stunning shots of amazing Welsh produce while experimenting with composition, lighting, and perspective.

Am gamp – llongyfarchiadau i Rylan ym mlwyddyn 11 ar ddod yn Bencampwr Iau Cenedlaethol Cymru 57kg yn ei dymor cyntaf o focsio. Mae Rylan wedi ymrwymo’n fawr i’w focsio ers peth amser bellach, yn hyfforddi tair gwaith yr wythnos ac yn gwneud hyfforddiant arall ar ben. Rydym mor falch ohono fe!

What an achievement – congratulations to Rylan in year 11 on becoming Welsh National Junior 57kg Champion in his first season of boxing. Rylan has been very committed to boxing for some time now, training three times a week and doing extra training on top. We are so proud of him!

Mae Blwyddyn 8 wedi bod yn gweithio ar brosiect sy’n gysylltiedig â Cymrogi (cwmni addysg gynaliadwy), YBB a Morgan Sindall y cwmni adeiladu ar gyfer Ysgol Gynradd newydd Rhosafan.  Mae’r disgyblion yn helpu i ddylunio’r ysgol newydd gyda’r amgylchedd ar flaen y gad.  Hyd yn hyn yr wythnos hon mae Blwyddyn 8 wedi cwblhau ‘saffari systemau’ o YBB yn edrych ar yr hyn sy’n gweithio a ddim yn gweithio yn ein hysgol yn amgylcheddol a sut y gallant ddylunio gwahanol rannau o’r ysgol ar gyfer Rhosafan.

Year 8 have been working on a project that is linked with Cymrogi (a sustainable education company), YBB and Morgan Sindall the building company for the new Rhosafan Primary School.  Pupils are helping to design the new school with the environment at the forefront.  So far this week Year 8 have completed a ‘systems safari’ of YBB looking at what is working and not working in our school environmentally and how they can design different areas of the school for Rhosafan.

Hyfryd iawn oedd croesawu Tim Hoci Ia Cardiff Devils i’r ysgol y prynhawn ‘ma. Mwynheuodd blwyddyn 8 gwasanaeth diddorol iawn gan y chwaraewyr, yn wreiddiol o Canada ond nawr yn chwarae hoci ia a dysgu Cymraeg yng Nghaerdydd!

It was lovely to welcome members of the Cardiff Devils Ice Hockey Team to school this afternoon. Year 8 really enjoyed an interesting presentation from the players, who are originally from Canada but now playing ice hockey and learning Welsh in Cardiff!

Heddiw roedd disgyblion mewn gwyddoniaeth yn dysgu am losgi magnesiwm a haearn mewn ocsigen. Pan fyddwch chi’n chwistrellu llenwadau haearn i’r llosgwr bunsen rydych chi’n creu sparkler!

Today pupils in science were learning about the combustion of magnesium and iron in oxygen. When you sprinkle iron fillings into the bunsen burner you create a sparkler!

Am ddiwrnod ar gyfer ein Tim Rygbi Merched Blwyddyn 7. Mi enillon nhw’r Pencampwriaeth Rhanbarthol Y Gweilch ac yn sgil byddan nhw’n mynd ymlaen i’r Rownd Cenedlaethol ble byddan nhw’n chwarae yn erbyn yr enillwyr o’r rhanbarthau eraill. Llongyfarchaidau anferth merched mi rydym yn eithriadol o falch ohonoch! Diolch yn fawr i Mr Bramwell am ddarpuru’r cyfle gwych yma i’r merched.

What a day for our Year 7 Girls Rugby Team. They won the Ospreys Year 7 Regional Rugby Championships and as a result they will be going to the National Finals where they will be playing against the winners of the other regions. Huge congratulations girls, we are extremely proud of you. Diolch yn fawr to Mr Bramwell for providing the girls with this fabulous opportunity.
