Summer School Uniform

Dear Parents and Carer,

Each year, depending on the weather we review the wearing of PE kit as a summer uniform. In response to weather reports we will be allowing all pupils to wear PE kit to school after the Easter Holiday.

I would like to be clear that pupils in have two options only.  To wear normal school uniform or to wear normal PE kit. Inappropriate garments such as Crocs, hotpants and normal sportswear will not be permitted, and my team will be contacting home where pupils do not respect our policy.  Our full uniform requirements are set out in full here: https://bit.ly/YBBUniform

If pupils do not have the correct PE kit, then they must wear their normal school uniform.

I would ask that Year 11 continue to wear uniform to their formal examinations which begin in May.  The examination hall has air conditioning.

We hope this compromise to our uniform policy will support pupils to be more comfortable in class without compromising our expectations for high standards.

Gŵyl Hoci Cymru/Welsh Hockey Festival

Am ffordd wych o orffen y tymor hoci gyda 2 fuddugoliaeth ac 1 golled i’n tîm Blwyddyn 8 yng Ngŵyl Hoci Cymru heddiw. Gwaith bendigedig ferched!

What a great way to finish off the hockey season with 2 wins and 1 loss for our Year 8 team at the Hoci Cymru Festival today. Fabulous work girls!

Siarter Iaith Gwobr Aur/Gold Award

Rydym yn hynod o falch i gyhoeddi ein bod ni wedi derbyn y Siarter Iaith Gwobr Aur heddiw! Ysgol Bae Baglan yw’r ysgol gyntaf yng Nghastell Nedd Port Talbot i dderbyn y wobr hon. Llongyfarchiadau gwresog i’n disgyblion, staff, llywodraethwyr a rhieni am eu gwaith di-flino wrth hyrwyddo’r iaith Gymraeg a’n hanes, treftadaeth a diwylliant unigryw.

We are extremely proud to announce that we received the Siarter Iaith Gold Award today! Ysgol Bae Baglan is the first school in Neath Port Talbot to receive this award. Huge congratulations to our pupils, staff, governors and parents for their tireless work in promoting Welsh language opportunities for all along with our unique history, heritage and culture.

Rowndiau Terfynol Esports Ysgolion Cymru/Welsh Schools Esports Finals

Llongyfarchiadai mawr i’n Tim Esports o Flwyddyn 8 a daeth yn ail yn y Rowndiau Terfynol Esports Ysgolion Cymru yn Stadiwm Y Prinicipality heddiw. Diolch yn fawr i Mr Watkins am ei holl waith gyda’r grwp.

Huge congratulations to our Year 8 Esports Team on coming runners up in the Welsh Schools Esports Finals at the Principality Stadium today. A massive thanks to Mr Watkins for all of his work and support to the team.

Prosiect Futurescape 7AHA Futurescape Project

Mwynheuodd Dosbarth 7AHA eu taith i Brifysgol Cymru Y Drindod Dewi Sant heddiw yn fawr. Aeth y grŵp i gael mwy o fewnwelediad a datblygu eu syniadau cysyniad tŷ cynaliadwy ymhellach. Edrychwn ymlaen yn fawr at weld y disgyblion yn cyflwyno eu syniadau yn y rownd derfynol ym Mharc y Strade, Llanelli ar 21 Mai.

Class 7AHA really enjoyed their trip to University of Wales Trinity Saint David today. The group went to gain more insight and further develop their sustainable house concept ideas. We very much look forward to seeing the pupils presenting their ideas at the finals event at Stradey Park, Llanelli on 21st May.

Tarian Bae Baglan Cystadleuaeth Rygbi/Bae Baglan Shield Rugby Competition

Gwaith gwych gan flwyddyn 6 yng nghlwstwr Ysgol Bae Baglan heddiw wrth gystadlu mewn cystadleuaeth rygbi 7 bob ochr fel rhan o’r Tarian Bae Baglan 2025. Llongyfarchiadau i bawb am gystadlu ac yn enwedig i Ysgol Bae Baglan a oedd yn 2il ac i Ysgol Tywyn am ennill y gystadleuaeth!

Great work by year 6 in Ysgol Bae Baglan School cluster today competing in a rugby 7s competition as part of the Bae Baglan Shield 2025. Congratulations to everyone for competing and especially to Ysgol Bae Baglan who came runners up and to Ysgol Tywyn on winning the competition!

Llongyfarchiadau i’n Tim Pel-rwyd Blwyddyn am eu perfformiad ardderchog yng Nghystadleuaeth Pel-rwyd Blwyddyn 7 Afan Nedd Tawe hedddiw. Roedd y merched yn rhagorol a diolch yn fawr i Mrs Harrison. Congratulations to our Year 7 Netball Team for their excellent performance in the Year 7 Afan Nedd Tawe Netball Competition today. The girls were outstanding and a big thank you to Mrs Harrison.
