A group of Year 11 pupils spent the weekend on their practice expedition for their Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. The group navigated themselves around the Brecon beacons covering around 20Km across two days and climbed Cadair Fawr (485m). They faced the additional challenge of the weather with some sun, rain and hail all while hiking carrying their full kit packs. At camp pupils demonstrated their campcraft skills and cooked on Trangia’s in between rain showers. The group showed excellent skills in readiness for their qualifying expedition next weekend.
