Uniform – Ysgol Bae Baglan

The Governing Body and staff at Ysgol Bae Baglan believe that a school uniform is an essential part of the ethos of the school giving a sense of belonging and helps create a working atmosphere. It also ensures that all pupils look the same which is extremely important for safeguarding, removes the stigma in terms of what to wear thus providing an identity for all. Unbranded Items

Parents are free to buy non-branded items from any leading high street store and these include items such as trousers, shirts, blouses, skirts and shoes. However, please support us by buying items that follow the uniform policy; we do not allow jeans, skinnies, trainers or canvas shoes.

The school’s decision on uniform is final. If parents are concerned about whether a particular item / style is suitable then they should contact the school for advice before buying or sending the child to school.

Jewellery is not allowed in school except a watch and a single set of stud earrings which are permitted. If makeup is worn by a pupil then it must be unobtrusive.

Girls – Reception – Year 6

White unbranded polo shirt
Black tailored trousers, black jogging bottoms or black skirt
Crew neck sweatshirt with school motif
Cardigan with school motif
In the summer girls may wear Pinafore / Gingham style dresses – lilac and white in colour

Boys – Reception – Year 6

White unbranded polo shirt
Black tailored trousers or black jogging bottoms
Crew neck sweatshirt with school motif
In the summer boys may wear black tailored shorts

Girls – Year 7-11

White long / short sleeved shirt / blouse with traditional collar
Black tailored trousers or appropriate length skirt. No jeans, skinny trousers or leggings.
Black or dark grey socks / tights
All black footwear. No logos allowed.
Blazer – optional in Upper School

Boys – Year 7-11

White long / short sleeved shirt with traditional collar.
Black tailored trousers. No jeans, skinny trousers or tracksuit bottoms.
All black footwear. No logos allowed.
Blazer – optional in Upper School

All pupils Years 7-11

Pupils can only wear the school’s tie and grey V-necked badged pullover which are both available exclusively from Sportec. No other grey pullover / hoodie is acceptable.

Physical Education

PE kit is only available exclusively from Sportec and can be ordered online or by visiting the store in Neath Abbey
