Dechreuodd ein plant Blwyddyn 10 eu wythnos profiad gwaith yn helpu eu cymuned leol trwy gymryd rhan mewn glanhau traeth yn Aberafan ddoe ynghyd â’r cynghorydd lleol Sean Pursey.
Our Yr 10’s started their work experience week helping their local community by taking part in a beach clean in Aberavon yesterday along with local counsellor Sean Pursey.
We have been successful in our application to be one of the 3 chosen causes for the Tesco Stronger Starts funding at the Port Talbot Tesco Store throughout July, August and September. Our application is for funding to improve our music department technical resources, making a difference for all of our pupils. Please support us throughout this period, when you shop at Tesco Port Talbot, by putting the blue token (given out at the checkouts) into the Ysgol Bae Baglan container at the main entrance.

Ymdrech ardderchog gan ddisgyblion blwyddyn 6, 7 ac 8 wrth ddringo Pen Y Fan ar ddydd Mercher 18 Mehefin er mwyn codi arian i’r Elusen Ymchwil Canser Cymru, codon nhw £3000!
An excellent effort by our year 6, 7 and 8 pupils in climbing Pen Y Fan on Wednesday 18 June to raise money for the Cancer Research Wales Charity, they raised £3000!
All the very best to our fantastic year 11 pupils who will be joining together with pupils from Ysgol Ystalyfera, Ysgol Bro Dur and Ysgol Pen Y Dre to take on the challenge of completing the Welsh Three Peaks within 15 hours on Thursday this week. The group of 60 pupils will be starting their challenge at 0400hrs on Thursday morning by climbing Yr Wyddfa. This will be followed by Cadair Idris and then Pen Y Fan. Just one week after finishing their GCSE exams, this is a fabulous effort from the pupils involved. What a day, huge congratulations to our recitation group, 1st in the Year 10 – 19 years old Group Recitation competition at the Urdd Eisteddfod in Margam Park. National Champions – We are very proud of you!
Mi rydym yn ysgol hynod o falch heddiw! Mi roddodd Amahrae, Izzie, Harri a Callan o Flwyddyn 7 cyflwyniad Cymraeg arbennig o dda i staff Llywodraeth Cymru a gwestaion ym mhabell Llywodraeth Cymru yn Eisteddfod Yr Urdd Parc Margam y bore ‘ma. Ar ol y cyflwyniad roedd y grwp yn falch iawn i dderbyn y Wobr Aur Siarter Iaith o ran yr ysgol. Disgyblion anhygoel a diwrnod bythgofiadwy yn hanes yr ysgol.
We are an exceptionally proud school today! Our year 7 pupils, Callan, Izzie, Harri and Amahrae gave a fabulous Welsh language presentation to Welsh Government staff and invited guests in the Welsh Government Tent at the Urdd Eisteddfod Dur a Mor in Margam Park today. After their presentation the group were very proud to receive the Siarter Iaith Gold Award on behalf of the school. Amazing pupils and a very memorable day in the history of our school.

Llongyfarchiadau enfawr i’n timau blwyddyn 7 a oedd yn cystadlu yn y Gystadleuaeth Futurescape yn Parc Y Strade, Llanelli heddiw. Roedden nhw’n cystadlu yn erbyn ysgolion o Sir Benfro, Abertawe, Castell Nedd Port Talbot a Sir Gaerfyrddin. Enillodd ein Tim Heat clod am eu cyflwyniad arddechog ac enillodd ein Tim Baglan Badgers y gystadleuaeth cyfan.
Huge congratulations to our year 7 teams who were competing in the Futurescape Competition at Stradey Park, Llanelli today. They were competing against schools from Pembrokeshire, Swansea, Neath Port Talbot and Carmarthen. Our Heat Team earned a commendation for their excellent presentation and our Baglan Badgers Team won the overall competition.

Everyone really enjoyed some fun numeracy activities in school this morning as part of our National Numeracy Day celebrations. Diolch yn fawr to Mrs Griffiths for organising the event.

Huge congratulations to our Year 8 Football Team on winning the Neath Port Talbot County Football Cup today. The team played fantastically well in a 3-1 victory against a strong Ysgol Cwmtawe team.
