Student Health and Well-being Survey 2025
Every secondary school in Wales have signed up for Years 7-11 pupils to complete the Student Health and Wellbeing Survey this year. We have been completing this survey with pupils for many years and it gives us valuable insights and supports us providing support and resources in the areas it is needed most. It is made clear to learners that this is voluntary, and they do not have to take part if they do not want to. More information below.

Cyfarfod a’n Tim Rygbi Blwyddyn 7 newydd/Meet our new Year 7 Rugby Team
Heddiw oedd y gem gyntaf i’n tim rygbi blwyddyn 7 newydd. Chwaraeon nhw’n arbenning o dda wrth guro Ysgol Llangatwg 42 -14. Seren Y Gem oedd Lawson Evans 7LGL. Da iawn bechgyn, dechreuad addawol iawn!
Today was the first game for our new year 7 rugby team. They played exceptionally well in beating Ysgol Llangatwg 42 -14. Man of the Match was Lawson Evans 7LGL. Well done boys, a very promising start!

Ysgol Bae Baglan Cancer Research Wales Stripe a Pose Day – Wednesday 24th September
We are delighted to announce that we are leading the Cancer Research Wales Stripe a Pose campaign across Wales on Wednesday 24th September 2025. All details have been sent home to parents/carers on Satchel One.

Dug Caeredin Gwobr Arian Blwyddyn 11 DofE Silver Award
A group of Year 11 pupils spent the weekend on their practice expedition for their Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. The group navigated themselves around the Brecon beacons covering around 20Km across two days and climbed Cadair Fawr (485m). They faced the additional challenge of the weather with some sun, rain and hail all while hiking carrying their full kit packs. At camp pupils demonstrated their campcraft skills and cooked on Trangia’s in between rain showers. The group showed excellent skills in readiness for their qualifying expedition next weekend. Da iawn bawb!

Pel-droed Blwyddyn 7 Football
Prynhawn gwych o bêl-droed i’n carfan Blwyddyn 7 yn eu gêm yn erbyn Ysgol Llangatwg – yn llawn pasio miniog, driblo hyderus, llwyth o goliau a hyd yn oed mwy o wenu. Ymdrech wych gan bawb – da iawn blwyddyn 7!
A fantastic afternoon of football for our Year 7 squad in their match against Ysgol Llangatwg – packed with sharp passing, confident dribbling, loads of goals and even more smiles. Great effort all round – da iawn blwyddyn 7!

Diwrnod Canlyniadau TGAU/GCSE Results Day
Hyfryd iawn oedd croesawu disgyblion a rhieni blwyddyn 11 a blwyddyn 10 i’r ysgol y bore’ma er mwyn derbyn eu canyniadau TGAU. Roedd canlyniadau’r ysgol yn dda iawn, llongyfarchiadau mawr i’n disgyblion a phob dymuniad da i flwyddyn 11 am eu pennod nesaf.
It was lovely to welcome year 10 and 11 pupils and parents to school this morning for their GCSE results. The school’s results were very good, huge congratulations to our pupils and best wishes to year 11 on their next chapter.

Botanical Gardens of Wales Trip
What a way to end the final Art and Photography trip of the school year!
A brilliant day exploring the beautiful Botanic Garden of Wales and the British Bird of Prey Centre. Pupils made great use of their new sketchbooks, drawing flowers, plants, and soaking in the stunning Welsh landscape. The bird flight display brought plenty of laughs and wide-eyed amazement. A fantastic day out for all 120 pupils, celebrating creativity in the great outdoors!
